Polar Artist is a Norwegian booking agency founded in 2006 with offices on the quayside in Trondheim and at Myrens Verksted in Oslo. It represents a broad Norwegian roster exclusively for live work, and the jazz and folk end of it is the interesting part for touring musicians: Hedvig Mollestad Trio, tuba player Daniel Herskedal, Ola Kvernberg Steamdome, the South Saami singer Marja Mortensson, Aevestaden, Valkyrien Allstars and Gammalgrass sit alongside rock and pop names such as Highasakite, Bokassa, Pom Poko, Frokedal and Espen Lind. A handful of non Norwegian acts are on the same list, including Mark Olson from the US and Wintergatan from Sweden. Six agents and producers are named on the contact page and each artist page carries the direct address of the agent who handles that act. Festival and venue bookers are told to contact the agent listed on the artist's own page, and Eirik Soreide is the managing agent in Trondheim. Worth knowing before you write: every invitation on the site is aimed at people booking the roster, and there is no published route for an artist seeking representation, so this is a list to book from rather than a door to pitch.
