The NATIVE is the Lagos magazine that describes itself as the reliable pulse of the African millennial, covering the music, art and style of tomorrow today, and it publishes several pieces a week: in the first half of August 2026 alone it ran How Ayra Starr Got To StarrGirl, LADIPOE Is Leading A REVIVAL, a piece on the P-Square saga and afropop's relationship with legacy, and Cruel Santino Is Back With International Collector. Its recurring music formats are Best New Music, the 1-Listen Review and The Shuffle, and recent Best New Music slots have gone to Scotty Olorin, TMZY and Yiizi, and Tiwa Savage with Skepta. Alongside music it covers art, fashion, film, tech and politics, and it collaborates on projects such as Blacklist West Africa with GUAP Magazine. Its own about page sets out a print magazine of four themed issues a year sold through listed stockists, plus Nativeland, the concert it stages under its own name. The Instagram account carries 102,000 followers. There is no submission form on the site (the footer form is a newsletter signup), so pitches go to a general address or through the @thenativemag Instagram and @NativeMag X accounts.
