The Attic

Bucharest · RO

The Attic is an independent, ad free online music magazine edited by Dragoș Rusu, with permanent bases in Bucharest for editorial and events and in Oslo for the technical side. It publishes long form features, interviews, field research and audio podcasts that treat music as a way into place and history, with recent pieces on pirate radio in transition era Bucharest, Roma futurism, and a roundtable on redefining ambient music. Its regular Monthly Dig column hand picks roughly sixteen releases a month, the July 2026 edition running from Ayman Asfour's Sardy Fardy to Francisco López and Bear Bones, Lay Low, almost all embedded straight from Bandcamp. The magazine also runs the Outernational Days festival strand and a SoundCloud of mixes and podcasts. There is no inbox printed on the contact page, so artists and labels use the form at https://theatticmag.com/contact/; the About page gives a named address for writers pitching articles.
